Semi-final revenge? Virat Kohli isn’t interested!

The Indian team led by Virat Kohli is getting ready to take on the Kiwis on their soil. No wonder Indian fans are waiting for the revenge of World Cup semi-final 2019. But Virat Kohli was found in a different mood in the pre-series media session.

Revenge is on cards

Indian fans can never forget the defeat against the Kiwis in the semi-final match of 2019 World Cup. The dreams were shattered for one of the favourites of the tournament in that one fixture. Moreover, since the loss the veteran cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been out of cricket. The match didn’t only break the hearts, it saw a different kind of batting from Dhoni which raised a lot of eyebrows. Now since the Asian giants are about to take on the Black Caps, the revenge is on the mind. The entire cricket world wants to see how things get unfolded between these two countries.

But Indian cricket captain seems to be in a different zone. He was asked about how his team is planning for the revenge, Virat Kohli said that Kiwis are too nice and it is difficult to think of strategizing any revenge against them.

What Virat thinks about Kiwis

On the eve of the first match of the five-match T20I series in New Zealand, Kohli laughed on this question and said that Kane Williamson led Kiwis are the right example for teams to play international level cricket. “Honestly, even if you think about revenge, these guys are so nice, you can’t get into that zone. We get along really well with these guys and it’s all about just being competitive on the field. They are probably one side that has set the right example for teams to play at the international level and how they should carry themselves. They are not nasty and you can tell by the way they play.”

He further added that both teams have mutual respects for each other and Indian dressing room was pretty happy for the Kiwis making to the World Cup Final. “We have a lot of respect for them and vice-versa. We were actually happy for them when they qualified for the finals because when you have lost you have to look at the larger picture.”
