Virat Kohli scored 973 runs in 16 games at an average of 81.08 in IPL 2016. He recorded four centuries to his name and batted with a strike rate of 152.03. In the same year, David Warner came close to Kohli but it is definitely a tough task to repeat the same even for Kohli. Breaking the record for someone is yet another almost impossible task.

2. Alzarri Joseph's Record of 6/12

T20I cricket is a tough place for the bowlers. But even in this format, truly talented players win matches with bowling. Alzarri Joseph debuted for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019 and managed to record 6/12 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The previous record belongs to Sohail Tanvir (6/14) which came in the inaugural campaign of the league.

3. Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers's Record of 229 runs partnership

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have shared a great bond which is often visible on the 22 yards. Both have been part of a number of match-winning partnerships for the side. One of these came in 2016 against Gujarat Lions. Both added 229 runs as Kohli scored 109 and his partner was unbeaten on 129 from just 52 deliveries.

4. Chris Gayle's 175 with 13 four and 17 sixes

Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss has been a perfect brand ambassador of T20 cricket. Across the T20 cricket league, he has made his presence feel whenever he is on the ground. He contributed with memorable match-winning innings for his respective IPL sides. His 175 with 13 four and 17 sixes for now-defunct Pune Warriors is still recalled by all and definitely a tough record to break.

5. Chris Gayle's Record of 37 Runs in a single over

has made some unbelievable records over all these years in IPL. We of course remember Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, and Herschelle Gibbs scoring 36 runs in a single over in T20 cricket. Gayle once scored 37 runs during IPL 2011. He smashed three fours and four maximums to register the unique record against Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
