#5 Piyush Chawla
The leg-spinner is another player who had made his debut before playing in the IPL. He played his first Test for India in 2006 and the first ODI in 2007. But it was the IPL that gave him the recognition. Playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, he played crucial roles in his side’s victories in 2012 and 2014.
Currently, he is the fourth highest wicket-taker in the history of the league with 126 wickets to his credit. But his international career was limited to 3 Tests, 25 ODIs and 7 T20Is. The emergence of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as the lead spinners didn’t work in Chawla’s favor and he last appeared for India in a T20I in 2012.
