Jay Shah’s confirmation about the Sri Lanka tour

Speaking to media in Barbados, Shah stated that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has already interviewed and shortlisted two names. He went on to say that once they get in Mumbai, the BCCI members would make an announcement.

The BCCI secretary confirmed that former India cricketer VVS Laxman will be going to Zimbabwe as the Team’s interim coach.

“Both coach and selector appointments will be made shortly. CAC has interviewed and shortlisted two names and after reaching Mumbai whatever they have decided we will go by that. VVS Laxman is going to Zimbabwe but a new coach will join from the Sri Lanka series,” Shah was quoted by ESPNcricinfo as saying.

Can Gautam Gambhir be the next head coach?

There’s a lot of speculation regarding who will serve as the next Head coach for team India. While there was a lot of buzz about some International options for the role, word has gotten around that ex Indian player Gautam Gambhir is one of the probable candidates for the role.

Gambhir’s success with the KKR team is applaudable as he not only won 2 IPL trophies for the team as a captain, but also became the mentor for KKR when they won their 3rd ever title. Gambhir was also a key player for India when they won the 2007 T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup in 2011. KKR lifted their third IPL title after enjoying an almost flawless run in the recently concluded season, being mentored by Gambhir.
