One more step in closure to the semi-final stage. A dramatic showdown has been going on between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Both teams are facing disappointments consecutively. In the previous match, Sri Lanka faced a huge loss against India of 302 runs. On the other hand, Bangladesh lost their last match to Pakistan. He had an issue with his helmet. After that twelfth man ran to bring the helmet. The three minutes was passed and the field umpires were discussing the matter. But at that moment, Bangladesh appealed for the dismissal and the umpire had to give him out. Angelo Mathews returned without facing a ball. Sri Lanka got their 5th wicket down.
As per MCC’s cricket rule timed out is absolutely fair. The rule said, “ 40.1.1 After the fall of a wicket or the retirement of a batter, the incoming batter must, unless time has been called, be ready to receive the ball, or for the other batter to be ready to receive the next ball within two minutes of the dismissal or retirement is not met, the incoming batter will be out, Timed out.”
The Miraculous Prediction:
The entire cricket world is still in shock. They can’t digest the fact of Mathews’s dismissals. The Sri Lankan squad is shattered by this. Within this unusual things come on the internet. An astrologer made this kind of prediction before the match. On his social media handle, he wrote, “ Bangladesh though has some support from stars today but may not be as good enough what Sri Lanka would get. SL should have a clinical approach in their match against Ban today and win it. Some unusual activity/ interruption etc. seen in the match today ex crowd person coming in between etc. making the match memorable.”
After that dismissal, he retweeted the previous post and wrote, “ Angelo Mathews gets timed out. Shakib Al Hasan appeals for time out.” after this tweet came, netizens went crazy over this. This has gone viral.

People have been divided into two poles. Some are supporting this and some are not. Cricket experts have said their words on that dramatic matter. Former Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis said, “ It’s against the spirit of the game, that’s what I feel about this.” Michael Vaughan also talked about this. He said, “ Timed Out for helmet issues… that’s a new one…”
Sri Lanka is fighting hard. They are looking forward to registering another win. After that dramatic out, one more wicket got down. De Silva got out by scoring 34 runs. Charith Asalanka is still unbeaten on 79 runs in 89 balls. Theeksana is on 3 runs. After 41 overs, Sri Lanka is on 226/6.
