Anshul Kamboj’s bowling was a masterclass of skill and control. He claimed the wickets of key India B players, including Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Rinku Singh, and Nitish Reddy, dismantling the opposition’s batting lineup.Â
On the third day, Kamboj had already secured a five-wicket haul and added three more on the fourth day, finishing with figures of 8/69.
This performance ranks as the fifth-best in an innings in Duleep Trophy history, with the record held by Debasis Mohanty, who took 10 wickets for 46 runs in 2001.
Kamboj provided a crucial breakthrough for his team by dismissing the well-set Jagadeesan, who had scored 70 runs.

Anshul Kamboj, a 23-year-old from Karnal, Haryana, made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kamboj is a right-arm medium pacer.
He rose to prominence in the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he took 17 wickets in 10 matches, playing a key role in his team’s victory in the tournament. Kamboj has also represented India at the U19 level.
He is the second Indian player after Naman Dhir to debut for the five-time IPL champions in the 2024 season. Mumbai Indians bought him for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2024 Auction.
Kamboj, who comes from an agricultural family, was previously part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru setup as a net bowler.
In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kamboj had a mixed start. He bowled out Travis Head in his second over, but it was ruled a no-ball due to overstepping. Later, he bowled Head again, but Nuwan Thushara dropped the catch.
Finally, he claimed his first IPL wicket by bowling Mayank Agarwal two balls later.
