‘Rohit sir and Virat sir deserve that’ Arshdeep Singh‘s wholesome gesture gets revealed by his father as team India secures the T20 World Cup 2024 Cup. Team India has won the T20 World Cup 2024, and rightfully so.
The team went undefeated in the tournament, clinching a close victory against South Africa in the finals at Barbados. While it was the whole team’s efforts, players like Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya were consistent with their performances in the tournament.
Arshdeep Singh’s thoughtful words on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli
While the win was undoubtedly a happy moment for the entire team, it also marked the retirement of the team’s veteran and senior most players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
According to his father’s statement, Arshdeep Singh, in his own way, made sure that the two players got their due credit and a souvenir of the match. Arshdeep Singh’s father said,
“when I asked Arshdeep why didn’t he pick the wicket as a memento, his reply was ‘Rohit sir and Virat sir deserve that’. Arshdeep is happy to play his part, we’re overjoyed just like the whole of India”. (Express Sports).
Team India to return home
As the men in blue got delayed with their celebrations in Barbados, the Caribbean country got an alert for a level 4 hurricane. The hurricane Beryl, was set to hit the coast of Barbados on Sunday which shut off all their routes.
However, arrangements have been made to bring the squad back home and the men in blue will land in Delhi on Wednesday, 3 July. BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who will also be travelling with the team, has made sure to arrange a felicitation ceremony for the champions, In India.
