Australia is set to face England in the fourth ODI at Lord’s on September 27, marking their first appearance at the venue since the controversial ‘cheat row’ incident during the 2023 Ashes. The dispute arose when Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey stumped Jonny Bairstow while he was out of his crease, sparking outrage from the Lord’s crowd, who labeled the move unsportsmanlike.
Ahead of the match, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh addressed the controversy, downplaying its significance.

Mitchell Marsh said
“There’s not an Ashes series that goes by that doesn’t have some sort of drama,” Marsh stated. He emphasized that the team has moved on from the incident, and expressed excitement about playing at the iconic venue again.
In response to last year’s events, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has implemented stricter measures in the pavilion, pushing back ropes in the Long Room to maintain distance between members and players.
Australia currently leads the five-match series 2-1, and England will look to level the series at Lord’s before the decider in Bristol.
