When Avesh was fielding close to the boundary ropes, spectators can be heard yelling “RCB-RCB” in a video that has gone viral online. The Indore-born cricket player, whose final match for India occurred on July 10, 2024, at Harare against Zimbabwe, responded to the enthusiastic reaction from the crowd by waving at them to keep chanting for him.
The star pacer expected to be part of Indian Test team
Star Indian pacer Avesh Khan is now representing the Shubman Gill-led India A squad against India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In the first inning, the 27-year-old right-hander picked up two wickets for 59 runs, and in the second inning, he has already struck out one hitter. During the current match, supporters were teasing the star fast bowler, who has played for Men in Blue in eight Twenty20 Internationals and eight One-Day Internationals.
Avesh is expected to be selected for the Indian Test team for the forthcoming two-match series against Bangladesh. Avesh was one of the four reserve players that traveled with the Indian side to the West Indies and USA in June for the T20 World Cup 2024. The BCCI selectors are considering pacers who can join Mohammed Siraj with the new ball in Jasprit Bumrah’s absence as the star pacer is expected to be rested for the two Test matches at home later this month, according to multiple sources.

On September 19, India and Bangladesh will begin their two-match Test series. The first game of the series will be played in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, while the second red-ball match will begin on September 27 at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.

India and New Zealand will play three red-ball matches, with dates and locations to be announced soon: Bengaluru (October 16–20), Pune (October 24-28), and Mumbai (November 1-5).
