Axar Patel gest replaced: Washington Sundar receives call-up

India and Bangladesh played the final match of super 4s on Friday against Bangladesh. Though India lost by a fine margin. Axar Patel, was praised by fans and the team for his blistering knock of 42 off 34 balls. 

Axar went lofting down the pitch, against Mustafizur Rahman’s slower off cutter. He was caught by opener Tanzid Hasan who was running from long off.

Replacement For Axar

During his knock against Bangladesh, he sustained multiple bruises and injuries. Off-spinning all rounder Washington Sundar has been drafted in the Indian squad as a precautionary measure. Sundar has been training in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) located in Bangalore,  prior to the Asian Games in China.

Sundar played his last ODI series against New Zealand at home in January. Where he was not fiery with the bat and had a decent outing with the ball. However, he was an integral part of the South Zone which won the Deodhar Trophy. Sundar eked out crucial wickets against the east zone during the final.

India’s Probable 11

Sundar has been called up, incase of India looks forward to play with three spinners against the Lankas in the final showdown. Though India made five changes during the game against Bangladesh, the men in blue will  play their best team available to clinch the Asia Cup.

So the best possible 11 for India is predicted to be- Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah & Mohammed Siraj.

During the game against Pakistan, veteran Indian stars Gautam Gambhir and Ravi Shastri discussed the importance of playing the Indian pace trio of Bumrah, Shami and Siraj. Apart from a good batting lineup, India needs to have a strong bowling lineup, to defend low scores during the world cup games.
