Reflecting on the Game:

In the second semifinal match of the T20 World Cup 2024, India and England have locked horns at the Brian Lara Stadium. After clearing all the previous stages, both teams faced each other on the big stage. After setting a good total in the first innings, the Indian bowlers thrived into the second innings, they dominated the England’s side throughout. Axar Patel Shined the bright in this match. He secured three crucial wickets for Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow. After the match-winning performance, he was awarded the Player of the Match.

While reflecting on the match, Axar said, “ I have bowled in the powerplay in the past, so I had to bowl in the powerplay, that was the plan. The wicket was stopping and keeping low, so tried to bowl in the right areas.”

Later he added, “The wicket was slow, so I tried to bowl slower in this match, it worked for me. Wouldn’t have worked had I bowled quicker, would have been easier for their batters. Our batters told us that the wicket wasn’t easy, so 160 was a good total according to us.”

Hailing Rohit Surya’s Partnership:

While batting in the first innings, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli came to bat. After Kohli got out scoring 9 runs in 9 balls, Rishabh Pant joined the skipper. But Pant walked away scoring 4 runs in 6 balls. After that, Rohit and Surya carried the innings. Rohit scored an amazing half-century and played a knock of 57 runs in 39 balls. Suryakumar Yadav missed his well-deserved half-century and walked away scoring 47 runs. But the partnership was impactful.

While praising the partnership, Axar said, “That partnership was magnificent, they scored the occasional boundaries and rotated the strike. Not thinking about Barbados at the moment, will celebrate this player of the match award first.”
