The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024, commencing on September 12 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, has made significant changes to the teams, particularly affecting players who have been called up for the Indian squad ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh.

Notably, prominent players such as Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will not participate in this round as they prepare for the Test series. In their absence, several players have been drafted into the squads, showcasing the depth of talent available in Indian cricket.

New Faces in India A and B Squads

In the India A squad, Mayank Agarwal has been appointed captain, stepping into a leadership role as the team looks to build on its performance. Pratham Singh from Railways will replace Gill, while Akshay Wadkar from Vidarbha CA takes the place of KL Rahul. Additionally, SK Rasheed from Andhra has been named as the replacement for wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.
