BCCI Explores T10 League Launch in India, Eyes Sep-Oct Slot

Another new way of cricket is going to be unveiled in India. As time moves, cricket is evolving in a new way. The game is getting shorter. People prefer to enjoy the shorter formats in the need for more timing. This is the reason behind T20 cricket’s popularity. BCCI is thinking of shortening the T20 format. They are in the thought of starting T10 format in India.

Another Evolution  in Cricket:

Since the birth of cricket, the game has undergone many changes. In the beginning, the game used to be played only in the longest format. After that, the ODI format was introduced to the world. Cricket evolved in this way. This format was popularised as it got shortened. After that, the game was shortened again. The T20 format was introduced to the cricket world. This was the shortest format till the T10 format came.

The whole world was crazy for the T20 format. But in the recent edition, the T10 league was introduced. Now, BCCI is thinking of starting the T10 league in India. They are thought of as starting this in a window in September-October. If this happens then another side of Indian cricket will be unveiled. Cricket lovers are excited about that. 

The T10 Format:

Another shortest format of cricket has been discovered a few years ago. This format of cricket was introduced in December 2017 in the United Arab Emirates. The ICC officially sanctioned the league. As per the rules, two teams will play two single-innings like the ODI and T20 format. Both sides will play 60 balls and the game will last for approx 90 minutes.

There are also some other rules. A bowler can bowl a maximum of two overs. Secondly, the powerplay will be there in the last three overs of both innings. If the match gets tied, super over will decide the winner. In 2019, the Caribbean Premier League featured two T10 matches in Women’s cricket. Sri Lankan Cricket organized the Lanka T20 League in partnership with Abu Dhabi T10 league. Now India’s name will added to this format soon.
