BCCI Introduces Prize Money For Men’s and Women’s Domestic Events

For all domestic women’s cricket competitions, the BCCI has announced prize money for player of the match and player of the tournament. Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, said on social media that the decision has been made to honor and recognize “outstanding performances” in the local circuit of India. In addition, prize money will be given out for player of the match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare competitions for men’s cricket.

The prize money initiative by BCCI

Under the Domestic Cricket Program, Shah said in a post on X that “we are introducing prize money for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments.” Furthermore, there will be cash prizes for the Player of the Match in the Senior Men’s Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments.

Up to eleven tournaments, including the senior one-day trophy, senior one-day challenger trophy, senior multi-day challenger trophy, senior T20 trophy, senior T20 challenger trophy, U-23 T20 trophy, U-23 one-day trophy, U-19 one-day trophy, U19 T20 trophy, U19 T20 challenger trophy, and U-15 one-day trophy, are scheduled as part of BCCI’s women’s domestic schedule for 2024–25.

The Duleep Trophy 2024 will mark the start of India’s domestic season and include a number of elite international players, including Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul.
