BCCI is All Set to Unveil the New Indian Head Coach Within 48 Hours

As the T20 World Cup 2024 is spreading excitement to the fans, another big decision is grabbing the attention of Indian fans. After the T20 World Cup, Indian coach Rahul Dravid will end his tenure. For the next coach, Gautam Gambhir’s name is buzzing the most. As per the reports, Dravid’s successor will be announced within the next 48 hours.

 After former Indian player Ravi Shastri ended his tenure, Rahul Dravid held the helm of the team in 2021. After that, he guided the team in many tournaments. But now, he is all set to end his tenure. After the news came out, Gautam Gambhir’s name caught most of the attention. As per the reports, he is set to replace Rahul Dravid for the Indian coach post. 

Gautam Gambhir, former India opener, underwent an interview on Tuesday with the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for the national team’s head coach position. The interview was conducted over a Zoom call, with Gambhir and Malhotra participating virtually in the session.

A BCCI source has revealed this news. The source said, “Yes, Gambhir appeared for the interview with the CAC. One round of discussions happened today. There is another round expected tomorrow.”

According to reports, Gautam Gambhir is the sole contender for the position, and his appointment is likely to be finalized within the next 48 hours. The discussion primarily centered on his proposed plans for the next three years, including preparation for three ICC tournaments across different formats. Gambhir’s vision for the team’s future and strategic roadmap were key topics during the deliberations with the Cricket Advisory Committee.

Recently, Gautam Gambhir guided Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024. Under his guidance, KKR won the trophy for the third time. Kolkata won previous true trophies under Gambhir’s captaincy. Now, he is all set to take the big step. Gambhir is ready to boost Team India on high.
