Following a resounding display of cricketing prowess, Team India secured a commanding 280-run victory over Bangladesh in the first Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the team and commend their outstanding performances.
A Dominant Performance
Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India dismissed Bangladesh for 234 runs in their second innings, successfully defending a daunting target of 515 runs. Star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was instrumental in this victory, claiming six wickets for 88 runs in 21 overs, establishing himself as the leading wicket-taker in the second innings. His exceptional performance not only showcased his bowling skills but also highlighted his all-round capabilities, as he had scored a century in the first innings.
Alongside Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja also made significant contributions with both bat and ball. He took three wickets for 58 runs, including the crucial wickets of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who top-scored with 82 runs, and other key batsmen. The duo of Ashwin and Jadeja proved to be a formidable combination, effectively dismantling the Bangladeshi batting lineup.
