Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten hundred in the T20 World Cup match against England at Sharjah to bring his maiden hundred in this format. He also became the first England player, male to hit a century in all three formats of the game.
At one point England, batting first were reeling at 35/3 when Eoin Morgan joined Jos Buttler. Both stiched in a 100-plus partnership together to save England innings. Buttler played a brilliant knock of an unbeaten 101 off 67 balls to take England score to 163 in 20 overs. On a pitch where run-scoring especially in the first half was not easy, Buttler came up with a masterclass.
In the process, he became the second England men’s team batter to score a T20I World Cup hundred. Buttler’s 101* is also the first hundred of T20 World Cup 2021. He joined an elite list of batters to score a hundred in the showpiece T20 event. Buttler joined the likes of Chirs Gayle (2), Ahmed Shehzad, Alex Hales, Mahela Jayawardene, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Tamim Iqbal after the stunning knock on Monday.
No wonder people could not stop praising his efforts. Heather Knight and Ben Stokes were seen admiring Buttler’s innings tonight on Twitter amongst others.

My Way or The Highway is a cop out. Buttler’s innings is an example of a top quality player respecting the conditions and playing the situation…not a prisoner of his reputation. #T20WorldCup #EngvSL

There isn't a better opening batsman in the world at the moment, in T20 cricket, than Jos Buttler
