KKR and RCB, two iconic IPL teams, met at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for a highly anticipated clash. During RCB’s batting innings, Cameron Green showcased his prowess with a stellar performance, contributing significantly to his team’s score. His brilliant innings added momentum to RCB’s batting lineup, setting the stage for an exciting contest against KKR. As the match unfolded, fans eagerly awaited the outcome of this thrilling encounter between two fierce rivals.
Cameron Green’s Amazing Batting:
Upon winning the toss, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer elected to field first, sending RCB to bat. Following the early dismissal of captain Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green joined Virat Kohli at the crease. Green’s aggressive knock saw him score 33 runs from 21 balls at a remarkable strike rate of 157.14. During the innings break, Green reflected on his performance and the team’s overall gameplay, highlighting key aspects of their approach to the game.
Cameron Green said, “Pretty happy with it (total), we saw how the pitch was playing, the off-cutters obviously working, hopefully it stays the same in the second innings. We have to wait and see. (Batting at three) I love playing there. You’ve got a bit more freedom in the last couple of overs in the powerplay. It’s always nice to bat with Virat, he looked beautiful again today. There’s certain bowlers in their team that I have never faced before. Obviously he has faced some 10 or 20 times, the experience is always amazing. They had a pretty good blueprint, cutters into the wicket – holding and not bouncing even, we have to wait and see if the dew comes in.”
RCB’s Today Innings:
In the early stages of the match, RCB captain Faf du Plessis suffered an early dismissal. However, the team managed to make a strong start, largely propelled by the efforts of Virat Kohli. Alongside Cameron Green, Kohli played a crucial role in steering RCB to 61 runs in the powerplay. Kohli continued his impressive form by registering yet another half-century, marking his second consecutive fifty this season.
The partnership between Kohli and Green flourished, accumulating 65 runs off 42 balls before Green was dismissed by Andre Russell for 31 off 21 deliveries. Subsequently, Glenn Maxwell, after struggling in previous games, found his rhythm despite two dropped catches by KKR fielders. Maxwell’s innings ended in the 15th over after scoring 28 runs off 19 balls. Kohli, however, remained unbeaten with a stellar 83 off 59 deliveries, guiding RCB to set a target of 183 for KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
