As per TAM AdEX, MS Dhoni topped the list of the most brand-endorsed Indian celebrities of Jan-Jun edition, Captain Cool topped the list with 42 brand endorsements.

In Indian cricket, there are very few players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After making his debut for India, he took Indian cricket to new heights. As a captain, he gifted Indian cricket 2011 ODI World Cup Trophy, 2013 Champions Trophy, and the 2007 T20 World Cup Trophy. Apart from this, he is one of the most successful IPL captains. He led Chennai Super Kings since the beginning and won five IPL trophies for the franchise. 

Recently, he showcased his excellence in another field. In modern-day cricket, brand endorsement become an integral part. According to the TAM AdEx report for the January to June period, MS Dhoni emerged as the top celebrity with the highest number of brand endorsements. Known as “Captain Cool,” Dhoni endorsed 42 different brands during this time, securing his position as the most sought-after celebrity for endorsements.

The list also highlighted other popular Indian celebrities. Amitabh Bachchan closely followed Dhoni with 41 brand endorsements. Shah Rukh Khan took the third spot with 34 brands, while Kareena Kapoor was next with 31 endorsements. Akshay Kumar rounded off the top five with 28 brands. The report shows the significant influence these stars hold in the advertising world, dominating the market across multiple sectors.

Will Dhoni Feature in IPL 2025?

Right after the IPL 2024, a lot of speculation was going over MS Dhoni’s participation in the IPL 2025. After BCCI unveils new retention rules ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, fans are watching a chance to see Captain Cool again in the IPL arena.

 Under the revised IPL retention rules, an Indian player who hasn’t played in the starting eleven in international cricket or held a BCCI central contract in the last five calendar years will be classified as uncapped. This rule applies only to Indian players and could impact player classifications for the upcoming seasons.

With these new rules, CSK is likely to retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player, despite his knee injury. Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL title in 2023 before handing over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad for IPL 2024.
