The Esports Awards 2024 is going on in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on August 24. This year, the event is split into two parts. The first ceremony is going on in Riyadh, concluding with the Esports World Cup 2024. The second part will occur later in London, focusing on Pro categories, including fan favorites like Esports Player of the Year and Esports Team of the Year.
S8UL Esports is nominated for ‘Esports Content of the Year’ at the Esports Awards. Meanwhile, Mortal has earned a nomination for ‘Esports Personality of the Year’ for the third consecutive time. Apart from that, stars from different fields joined the iconic event.
Magnus Carlsen on Esports Award 2024:
The esports award got a very special appearance on Redcarpet. Chees superstar Magnus Carlsen appeared at the red carpet event prior to the award ceremony. This appearance added extra madness to the event.
On the red carpet, Magnus was asked about his journey. While sharing that, he said, “Well I started playing chess when I was eight, wanted to beat my sister. And then eventually I beat everybody else. So that’s my story.”
Later he added, “It’s been a fun journey. I am extremely privileged to still be able to do my main hobby and passion for a living, so hopefully I will have many more years to that.”
Magnus Carlsen has long been a dominant force in chess. Recently, he added another achievement to his record. The 12th edition of the Norway Chess super-tournament wrapped up on June 7, with Carlsen securing his sixth Norway Chess title.
