India is now playing the 2nd semifinals match against England, the same team they lost to, in the semifinals of T20 World Cup 2022. The match is taking place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The match was a little delayed due to rain in the stadium, but has since gained its momentum. After Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant lose their wickets, team India is now under great pressure as Chris Jordan takes important catch, dismisses Suryakumar Yadav.
In today’s match, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. India is batting in the first innings, struggling with the scores. The men in blue have not only won 3 of their matches in the group stage while the fourth match got abandoned, they also managed to bag a 47-run victory against their neighbours Afghanistan, a 50-run victory against Bangladesh and a 24-run victory against Australia in the Super 8 stage.
Chris Jordan’s catch sends SKY off
Team India’s batting in today’s match against England seems quite weak as the men in blue keep losing important wickets. India’s opener, the veteran batsman Virat Kohli score 9 runs off 9 balls, while captain Rohit Sharma seems back in form as he scored 57 off 39 balls. Suryakumar Yadav had scored 47 runs off 36 balls while Rishabh Pant could only score 4 runs.
Jofra Archer was bowling in the 16th over, giving out a slow delivery while SKY opted to hit a boundary. Suryakumar’s attempt at a shot got interrupted by Chris Jordan who was right there, fielding as he took the catch. Suryakumar played a good innings, being very close to a 50 he could’ve gotten if not for Jordan’s catch.
