The World Cup is an emotion for all cricket lovers around the globe. Along with this, the World Cup Trophy is a fascination of many. Every team competes on this big stage to name the title and win the trophy. This time India will host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Recently IICC bought the trophy in front of Charminar, Hyderabad. The people of Hyderabad got a chance to take a glance at the trophy.
What is so special about it?
This trophy is extremely special to the cricket world. No one can touch the trophy apart from selected individuals. Only players who have won the trophy or who are a part of the World Cup can touch or lift the trophy for autographs. It was designed and manufactured in London by the Crown Jewellers. This trophy is 60 cm high and it features a golden globe held by three Silver columns. It is styled as stump and bails, which represent the pillars of the game.
It costs more than 30 Lakhs Indian rupees. Approximately it is weighted 11 Kilograms. It is designed with dimensions, and can easily recognized from any angle. It was first made for the 1999 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Launch of the Trophy:
The launch event was as special as the trophy is. It was launched at 1,20,000 feet above the Earth at 65 degrees Celsius. After that, it made an outstanding landing on Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. One more surprising fact about the trophy is, that ICC is the real owner of this trophy. The winners get only a replica of the trophy. The name of the winning team gets etched in the real trophy.
The trophy ended its World Tour. It traveled to 18 countries all over the World. This time India has become the hosting country of the big event. Last time when India was the host, they defeated Sri Lanka and won the trophy. After 2011 India did not win any World Cup. This time fans are hoping to name the trophy once again. India has selected a very balanced side for the World Cup. expectations are high. On November 19, the World will be introduced with a new World Champion.
