Complete Squad Of Delhi Capitals After WPL 2024 Auction

The much awaited auction ahead of the Women’s Premier League 2024 held yesterday and all the five franchises are up with their squad list. 2023 defending champions Delhi Capitals had a great showdown in the mega auction where they ended up filling their vacant spots. Delhi Capitals was one of those teams who showcased an exhibit performance in the inaugural season of the WPL. It ended up being the runners up after losing against the Mumbai Indians. 

With a formidable and even revamped squad ahead of the 2024 season, it looks stronger than ever acquiring the services of its key players in the auction. It retained a commendable squad of 15 players, accommodating both emerging talents and senior experienced players. This time, it seems that the franchise is clinched to win the coveted trophy. 

Acquiring essential’s services

The overseas players who have been retained are Australian skipper Meg Lanning, all-rounder Jess Jonassen, South African pacer Marizanne Kapp and England sensation Alice Capsey along with Laura Harris. The seasoned campaigners include Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, Arundhati Reddy, Taniya Bhatia, Titas Sadhu, Minnu Mani and Sneha Deepthi.

It was the first franchise to wrap their squad in the auction in record time after being able to acquire the services of Australia’s Annabel Sutherland in a bidding war with Mumbai Indians. The Delhi Capitals franchise roped in Annabel for INR 2 crores. After her, they added two more players to their list namely Aparnal Mondal and Ashwani Kumari for Rs 10 Lakhs each.
