MIG Cricket Club Awards Lifetime Membership to T20I World Cup Champions Hardik, Surya, Dube, and Jaiswal

After 17 years of wait, Team India lifted the T20 World Trophy on the Caribbean soil. After having an exciting season throughout the tournament, Team India ended their trophy drought. Throughout the tournament, the Indian player shined and delivered exciting performances. The entire nation celebrated the victory. Four players from India’s victorious 2024 T20 World Cup squad Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been granted honorary life membership by the MIG Cricket Club. 

Life-Time Membership of MIG Cricket Club:

Four members of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal is honored with lifetime memberships at the MIG Cricket Club. Hardik, who served as vice-captain during the tournament, along with his brother Krunal Pandya regularly trains at MIG CC.

During the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA, Hardik Pandya played a crucial role for India. He took 11 wickets with an impressive performance in bowling and scored 144 runs at an average of 48.00 with a strike rate of 151.57. Apart from his international duties, Hardik also led the Mumbai Indians in the Twenty24 Indian Premier League.

Suryakumar Yadav, a regular at MIG CC, made significant contributions with the bat in the tournament, accumulating 199 runs in eight matches at an average of 28.42. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube, representing MIG in local cricket, scored 133 runs in the T20 World Cup at an average of 22.16. Although Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t feature in the T20 World Cup, he made headlines earlier by scoring over 700 runs in an Indian Test series against England.

Additionally, several other notable cricketers and sports personalities have also been granted honorary life membership at MIG CC, including KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, Nilesh Kulkarni, Subroto Banerjee, and former women’s cricketer Sulakshana Naik, who is part of BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee, and billiards player Kamal Chawla.

In the past 11 years, Team India faced disappointment in ICC tournaments, often reaching finals but falling short. However, this time was different. In a thrilling match against South Africa at Kensington Oval, India chose to bat first after winning the toss but suffered early setbacks with Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav dismissed cheaply.

Amidst a challenging season, one player emerged as the anchor. Scoring a crucial half-century, he then played a responsible innings, making 76 runs off 59 balls. Axar Patel also played a vital role with the bat. India’s bowlers shone brightly, led by Hardik Pandya, who took 3 wickets, including a decisive last-over performance.
