After the match against India, they faced Australia. Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq scored 64 and 70 runs. Other than them, no other Pakistani batter left an impact in that match. Their bowling was better than batting. Shaheen Afridi took 5 wickets in 54 runs and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets in 83 runs. Australia hammed them with a 62-run win.
In the last match, Pakistan faced Afghanistan. Abdullah Shafique scored 58 runs. Babar Azam scored 74 runs in 92 balls. In bowling, they did a horrible job. Other than Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali took 1 wicket each. Other than that, no other bowler got wickets. Afghanistan won the match by 8 wickets.
Danish Kaneria on Pakistan’s form:
Pakistan is not in a very good stage in the tournament. Former Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria talked about their form. He said, “When the squad was announced, I was sure that this wasn’t a well-balanced team. The selections were based on friendships and personal relationships. I knew that this team would struggle in the World Cup.”
He further added, “ They talk about everything but strategy. They needed to understand that the conditions in India would favor batting and spin. The selection was totally wrong.
After that, he also talked about Hasan Ali and Usama Mir’s inclusion in the World Cup squad. He said, “ In Naseem Shah’s absence, Pakistan is giving the new ball to Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali is only on the team because of friendship. Usama Mir plates for Multan Sultans, and Mushtaq Ahmed has good relations with Inzamam-ul-Haq. When a team is made for people’s individual benefits and not for the country, you will only get such results.”
Pakistan has a big concern about giving up under pressure situation. They are standing well but when the opponents are trying to dominate them, they are losing control over the match.
