David Miller Pleased with Late Runs Despite Middle-Innings Wobble

The Super Eight stage is witnessing the fifth game. In that game, England and South Africa are locking horns at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. The spectators are witnessing a thrilling encounter between these two teams. In the first innings, South Africa gave an outstanding start but in the middle, they lost their form. After the end of the first innings, David Miller reflected on their performance.

After having a successful group stage, the T20 World Cup 2024 is now experiencing the Super Eight stage. Eight mighty teams are facing each other to be the best. In the fifth match, South Africa and England are facing each other. After giving a dazzling start to their innings, they were seen struggling in the middle overs. After the first innings ended, the South African batter David Miller reflected on South Africa’s batting approach. 

While talking about this, Miller said, “Nice to get runs at the back end. We started well, went into a wobble in the middle but it’s due to the conditions. 160 is a good score. I hit it well but just a bit too flat.”

While talking about the pitch, he said, “It started well (the pitch). Looked like it came on nicely. But it got slower and slower. It’s not too slow, it’s a good wicket.”

South Africa’s Interesting Innings:

In the fifth match of the Super Eight stage, South Africa faced England in a crucial battle. South Africa had an exciting group side. On the other hand, after starting with setbacks, England made an amazing comeback and came to this stage. However, in this match, South Africa batted first and gave an amazing start. In the 10th over, they lost their first wicket. 

Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks gave an amazing start. But Hendricks got out scoring 19 runs in 25 balls. But de Kock stood tall. He scored a crucial half-century and played a knock of 65 runs in 38 balls. Miller added 43 runs. They set a target of 164 to the English side. 

While bowling in the second innings, the South African bowlers dominated the opponent. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj were excellent. Both secured two wickets each. Those efforts made a huge impact on the game. Ottneil Baartman and Anrich Nortje secured 1 wicket each. With those exceptional team efforts, South Africa secured a 7-run win.
