Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant and IPL star Harshit Rana are going to play the inaugural season of Delhi Premier League in 2024. Rohan Jaitley, chief of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and league president, announced that Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Harshit Rana will participate in the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL).
The tournament will run from August 17 to September 8, 2024. The T20 league will feature 40 matches, with 33 in the men’s category and 7 in the women’s, all held at the Arun Jaitley Arena. Six men’s teams went for Rs 49.65 crore in the recent franchise auction.

Rohan Jaitley, the head of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and league president, revealed that Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Harshit Rana will be competing in the first season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL).
“Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, Harshit Rana and other Indian players will feature in the inaugural season of DPL. I had a talk with Rishabh Pant and he has promised me to participate in the league but it only depends on his availability and national commitments. But as of now, he will be playing. Navdeep and Harshit will also feature in the league,” said Jaitely at the trophy inauguration ceremony on Friday.
These are all the team’s that will play in Delhi Premier League
The Delhi Premier League will hold matches between 6 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams respectively. The matches will start on 17 August and go on till 8 September 2024.
Men’s teams for the DPL 2024: South Delhi Superstars, Purani Dilli 6, Central Delhi Kings, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions and East Delhi Riders.
Women’s teams: South Delhi Superstars, Central Delhi Queens, North Delhi Strikers, East Delhi Riders.
Virendra Sehwag becomes ambassador for DPL 2024
The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) appointed former Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag as the brand ambassador for the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL).
This announcement was made at a grand launch event for the league in New Delhi, attended by the entire Apex Council of DDCA.
“I am excited to join the Delhi Premier League as its brand ambassador. Delhi has always been close to my heart, and I believe this league will provide a fantastic platform for young and talented cricketers from the region to shine. I look forward to being a part of this exciting journey and contributing to the growth of cricket in the Capital,” said Sehwag.
