A perfect Sunday evening for cricket fans. The 54th showdown of IPL is witnessing an intense clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Ekana Stadium. The match becomes more thrilling because of the KKR batters’ dominating performances. Sunil Narine put up a show after getting two lives from LSG fielders and finally, Devdutt Padikkal sent him back to the pavilion.
Narine’s Two Lives From LSG Fielders:
After facing Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders in the first half of the season, both teams are facing off again. Kolkata defeated Lucknow in the first game and Lucknow is aiming a revenge this time. But while batting first, the Knights batters gave an amazing start. Sunil Narine was aggressive since the beginning.
After winning the toss, KL Rahul opted to bowl first. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine came to open the innings for KKR. just like in previous games of the season, he gave an aggressive start and scored an amazing half-century. The LSG bowlers were struggling to stop him. In the 12th over, Ravi Bishnoi came to bowl. In the second ball of the over, Bishnoi bowled an amazing delivery. Narine misjudged the length but still attempted the loft. The ball hangs in the air, giving Padikkal a chance at long-on. However, he misjudges his positioning, stepping onto the boundary ropes and going over. Narine survives, getting a second chance as the ball sails over for a six.
His second life back came in the very next ball. Bishnoi delivers a quicker delivery, wider off-stump. Narine attempts a hit it on the off-side but gets a thick top edge. The ball goes to Mohsin at third man, who dives full-length to his right but fails to hold on. Unfortunately, he misses the catch again, giving Narine another chance.
Finally, Devdutt Sent Him Back:
After two consecutive lives back, he was confident. But in the final delivery of the over, Bishnoi dismissed Narine and earned the long-awaited success. In that final ball, Ravi Bishnoi delivered a full ball in the outside of the corridor. Narine attempts to hit straight down the ground but mistimes it, getting a thick inside edge. The ball goes straight to Padikkal who was fielding at the long-on, who positions himself well inside the boundary and takes a safe catch, dismissing Narine.
With that delivery, another fine innings of Sunil Narine ends on 81 runs. Salt walked away after scoring 32 runs. Interestingly, Andre Russell walked away after scoring only 12 runs. The LSG bowlers are coming back to dominating the opponents, After the 15th over, Kolkata is 171-3.
