Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan praised Arshdeep Singh for taking the IPL 2023 match to the last ball. He also added that PBKS do not have a good off-spinner to stop the leakage of runs against left-handers.
As Kolkata Knight Riders won the match against Punjab Kings by five wickets, it was Arshdeep Singh who managed to take the match to the final over. While speaking of the same, after the match, the PBKS captain said, “Feels bad, of course not feeling great. Not an easy track to bat on, in the end they played well. It was a great effort from Arshdeep, the way he has bounced back from the last game. All credit to him that he took the game to the last ball.”
He also explained what PBKS lack according to him. “I feel we don’t have a good off-spinner, that is where we are leaking a bit of runs when left-handers come in. This wicket was offering turn as well, that is where we took the hit,” Dhawan said.
Punjab Kings despite losing a few quick wickets managed to score a competitive total of 179/7. In response, KKR lose their openers quickly, but KKR captain Nitish Rana hit a crucial fifty before Andre Russell rose to the occasion and played a quickfire knock of 42 off 23.
