Rajasthan Royals’ right arm wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel finally showed what he’s made of. Having been silent with the bat throughout IPL 2024, Dhruv Jurel got to showcase why he is regarded as an upcoming star for Team India.
The 23 year old, who hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was brought into the RR franchise in IPL Auction 2023.
The batsman was promoted up the order in Rajasthan’s match against Lucknow Super Giants, and his partnership with captain Sanju Sampson went unbeaten.
Dhruv Jurel scores first fifty
In LSG vs RR Jurel scored 52 runs from 34 balls, helping his team win by 7 wickets. His partnership with captain Sanju Samson was a very successful one where Sanju remained unbeaten with a knock of 71 runs off 33 balls, including seven fours and four sixes.
Dhruv took his team to victory by scoring 52 runs off of 34 balls, (being unbeaten) packed with five fours and two sixes, as Rajasthan Royals successfully chased down a target of 197 runs, reaching 199/3 in 19 overs.
Rajasthan is still maintaining it’s position at number one on the points table After this match.
Jurel’s heartfelt gesture to family
As the game came to an end, Dhruv was seen celebrating with his family. Pictures have surfaced of him with what seems to be like his mother, father, and siblings on the field. It is safe to say that Dhruv has made his way from the ground up, and is humble and grateful through it all.
After the game, Jurel was asked about his salute celebration. He disclosed that it was dedicated to his father, who previously served in the army. “I always play for my papa, and I did it in the Test match as well. He was then in the army, he was there today, and that was for him,” he stated.
