Dinesh Karthik: “Nobody Can Doubt His Quality”, In Support Of Babar Azam

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has received a lot of support from former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, who has shown respect and unity for his cricketing counterpart. Karthik has shown unflinching faith in Azam’s batting ability and his potential to recover despite his recent decline in form.

Babar’s Performance Recently

Babar Azam’s spot in the team is currently in jeopardy due of his recent poor record, since he hasn’t even reached 50 for Pakistan in the last 15 Test innings. Last week in Rawalpindi, during the first Test match against Bangladesh, he was dismissed for a duck in the opening innings but managed to score 22 runs in the second essay.

He scored 31 runs in the opening inning of the second Test, which is still in progress. On Monday, September 2, he will bat in the second inning. On the fourth day of the Test match, where Bangladesh has made an incredible recovery after losing six wickets for only 26 runs at one point, the supporters would be expecting a massive blow from him.

The Pakistani squad had earlier suffered defeat in the first Test match against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. After just escaping a second duck in the first innings due to a lost catch, Babar was dismissed for a duck in the second, making for a challenging contest. Pakistan lost their first-ever Test match against Bangladesh by an astonishing 10-wicket margin.

Dinesh Karthik In Support Of Babar Azam

Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has spoken out in favour of Babar, saying that he has exceptional potential and that there is no doubting his skill as a batter.

Karthik said on Cricbuzz “Babar Azam as a player, nobody can doubt his quality. He’s got outstanding batting potential, though I feel he’s under a lot of pressure as a skipper. That’s something that they need to rethink about,”

“Pakistan now in that Test match against Bangladesh; I thought they declared a touch too early in the first inning. In Asia, it’s about batting big and batting long in the first inning,” he said.
