England Announces Squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

The England Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The team, led by Heather Knight, features a mix of experienced players and exciting newcomers.

Notable inclusions in the squad include wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath and all-rounder Freya Kemp, both of whom have been selected for their first T20 World Cup squads. The squad also retains a strong core of experienced players, such as Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Danni Wyatt.

While fast bowler Lauren Filer will join the squad for the preparation camp in Abu Dhabi, she has missed out on selection for the World Cup.

Head coach Jon Lewis expressed the difficulty in selecting the final squad due to the high quality of players available. He praised the selected players for their balance of experience, youth, and skills, which he believes will be crucial for success in the UAE conditions.
