Before stepping into the big tournament, Fazalhaq Farooqi was there in the IPL. He didn’t feature in any game. But that was big stage of learning. While talking about this, Farooqi said, “I was in the IPL, unfortunately, I didn’t get a game, so I came here and gave myself the strength to come and perform.”
Against Papua New Guinea, he conceded 16 runs in 4 overs and secured 3 wickets with an economy rate of 4.00. That spell played a crucial role in securing the victory. He picked up some big wickets and dominated the opponent. While talking about his plan, he said, “I have two plans while bowling – just get wickets if there’s any swing or seam, if there’s no movement, I just bowl in the right areas and keep it simple. We just need to give our 100% and do our best (in the Super 8).”
