Finn Allen Smashes Records in Dunedin with Most Sixes and Highest T20I Score for NZ

After facing two consecutive defeats, Pakistan faced New Zealand in the third T20 international in Dunedin on January 17. The match was again a huge setback for the team. In that match, New Zealand batters shattered the record. Kiwi batter Finn Allen played an incredible knock and created some thrilling records. 

Finn Allen’s Exceptional Knock:

After winning the first two T20 matches, New Zealand met Pakistan in the third T20 international in Dunedin. In that match, the Kiwis were in excellent form. While batting first, Allen played a knock of 137 runs in 62 balls. That was incredible. He smashed 5 boundaries and 16 over boundaries. This opening knock gave strength to New Zealand’s innings.

This knock made several records. With these 16 over-boundaries, Allen equaled Afghan cricketer Hazratullah Zazai’s records for the most sixes in the T20 format. Zazai hit 16 over-boundaries against Ireland in February 2019. By depending on this giant knock of Finn Allen, New Zealand registered their highest score in T20. His sensational record shattered all the records. 

New Zealand’s Domination over Pakistan:

After two successful encounters, the Kiwis met Pakistan at the University Oval Ground in Dunedin. After winning the toss, they decided to bowl first. The Kiwi squad used the chance. Devon Conway lost his wicket early. But another opener Finn  Allen played an incredible knock. He scored 137 runs in 62 balls. Tim Seifert scored 31 runs in 23 balls. In 20 overs, Kiwis gave a huge target of 225 runs.

Pakistani bowling was toothless. They conceded too many runs. Their star bowler Haris Rauf conceded 60 runs in just 4 overs are picked up 2 wickets. Skipper Shaheen Afridi took 1 wicket and gave 43 runs. Zaman Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, and Mohammad Wasim picked up 1 wicket each. 

While batting, the Pakistani batting lineup struggled. Opener Ayub and Rizwan tried well but could not dominate the opponent. Babar Azam played well and scored 58 runs in 37 balls. He smashed 8 boundaries and 1 over-boundary. Mohammad Nawaz walked away after scoring 28 runs in 15 balls. After 20 over, they scored 179/7. New Zealand won the match by 45 runs and named the series.
