The Indian men’s cricket team has transitioned well into the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after their long IPL 2024 journeys. The men in blue have went along to win all three of the matches they have played in the ICC tournament, all being scheduled in the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
India played and won their opening match for the T20 World Cup 2024 in a match against Ireland on June 5. This was followed by the fan-favourite and exciting match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, as India won that match by 6 runs. India’s last match in New York was against co-hosts USA who lost the match by 7 wickets.
Sreesanth’s take on the Indian Playing XI
Former Indian fast bowler Sreesanth has spoken up about the little changes that could make the Indian cricket team better according to him. The pacer believes India should stick to the winning combination, but adding Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson to the playing XI could help the men in Blue even more.

“Nobody wants to change the winning combination. I know Rahul bhai (Dravid), old school is the best school. So his thinking will be the same. RoKo (Rohit and Virat) will open.” Shreesanth said.
“If they don’t open, then yes, instead of Dube, Jaiswal could come in. This will give more depth to the batting, and Jaiswal will get freedom because Virat Kohli, the legend, is at number three. So Jaiswal will have the freedom to express himself, which he would love to do,” he added.
“Won’t say anything on Ravindra Jadeja”: Sreesanth
Speaking on one of team India’s biggest assets, Sreesanth maintained that he wouldn’t change a thing about Jadeja’s spot in the team.
“I won’t say anything about Ravindra Jadeja; he is a match-winner. Let’s not forget and judge him; he is a match-winner. We have seen him perform for CSK or any other match. He comes out when there is pressure and stress.” Said Sreesanth.
“He plays a magical knock and delivers with the ball. He is also a gun fielder, so we should never question his place,” he added.
Despite being at the top spot on the Group A points table, team India is looking forward to defeat Canada in their final match for the Group stage.
