Former Indian Pacer RP Singh Surprised By Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s Absence From The White-Ball Series Against South Africa

India is all set to kick off a month long tour of South Africa which will see both the teams play a 3-match T20I series, ODI series followed by a 3-match Test Series. Team India will leave for South Africa on December 6 as the series will commence on December 10 in Durban. Ahead of this, Team India squad against South Africa was announced yesterday i.e 30th November. Along with the announcement, the BCCI reckoned that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will skip the white-ball series and will return for the Test series to be held in late December.

Who are the players to miss out on the white-ball series?

Along with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Indian pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has not been picked for the white-ball series despite a stupendous performance earlier this year. A total of seven players from the ODI World Cup 2023 have been retained in the T20I series.

With the ODIs to be led by KL Rahul, T20 series to be led by Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the Test Series against South Africa. But what comes as a surprise is Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s exclusion from the squad for the T20s despite a brilliant performance in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023 having picked 8 wickets in 3 innings.

RP Singh disappointed by Bhuvi’s exclusion

On getting to know about the formation of Team India squad for the white-ball series, former Indian pacer RP Singh expressed his disappointment about Bhuvi not being selected in the squad against South Africa. The senior pacer remarked “Am really surprised that @BhuviOfficial is not part of any of the white ball squads for the South Africa tour. I have seen him closely this season and he looked in great shape and spirit.”
