Former Indian pacer Siddarth Kaul retires from cricket, reflecting on a career filled with milestones, including his cherished India caps and Under-19 World Cup victory.

In 2018, Kaul earned his T20I cap (No. 75) and ODI cap (No. 221), which he cherishes deeply. He wrote about his early dreams of playing for India, recalling how he played cricket in the fields of Punjab.
“When I was a child playing cricket in the fields in Punjab, I had one dream. A dream to represent my country. In 2018, by Gods grace, I received my India Cap Number 75 in the T20i team and Cap Number 221 in the ODI team. The time has now come to call time on my career in India and announce my retirement. Words cannot express my gratitude for the love and support I have received through all the highs and lows of my career,” Kaul wrote on X.
Kaul thanked God for guiding him throughout his career and expressed appreciation for the support he received during both highs and lows.
Moreover, Kaul acknowledged the crucial role played by his family, fans, and teammates throughout his journey. He specifically thanked the BCCI for enabling him to fulfill his dream of representing India and winning the 2008 Under-19 World Cup. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to various IPL franchises, including Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, for providing him with unforgettable memories in cricket.

Kaul’s career has been marked by numerous achievements and challenges. He began playing first-class cricket in 2007 and gradually established himself as a reliable bowler for Punjab.
His breakthrough came during the 2017 IPL season when he took 16 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad. This success led to his selection for the national team, where he made significant contributions in limited-overs formats.
Throughout his career, Kaul faced injuries but persevered to become a prominent figure in domestic cricket. He consistently showcased his skills in various tournaments, becoming a vital player for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
