Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has been in the limelight since some controversial statements he spoke over various topics and issues lately. He was also trolled for his remarks on Twitter, now known as X. Danish Kaneria was found guilty of spot-fixing in a match against Durham in 2019 while he was with the English county Essex. Along with him, Mervyn Westfield was also found guilty of the offence but it was Danish who encouraged him to indulge in spot-fixing asking him to concede only 12 runs in an over. It was only in 2012, when Danish got tested in the court and received a lifetime ban from the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Ahead of the imposition, Danish exclusively spoke to AajTak requesting PM Modi and BCCI to help him with the issue and attain a means of livelihood. He pleaded “I would like to appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BCCI to help me remove the ban that was imposed on me by the ECB”.
Quoting on Pakistan’s performance in WC
The former cricketer has made appeals to the ECB and PCB before but neither of them attended to his request. At last, he seemed to have no other option than to request the BCCI for helping him uplift the ban. In the interview, along with the request, he also stated his remarks over the Pakistani team’s performance in the ongoing World Cup following a stunning 8-wicket loss against Afghanistan. “This is not a balanced team. The team is created on PR relations and the Afghanistan outclassed the Pakistan side across all departments.”
