This extraordinary feat surpassed the previous record set by South Africa‘s Ottniel Baartman earlier in the tournament against Sri Lanka. Introduced into the attack in the 9th over, Nsubuga showcased exceptional accuracy, conceding merely two runs in his first over.

Nsubuga’s Words;

After registering the historical bowling figure, the Uganda bowler shared his feelings. He said, “My first big tournament, first World Cup and to finish with figures of 2 for 4, I’m still pinching myself.”

Later he added, “The ball wasn’t coming on and I bowled on the slower side. We needed to bowl wicket-to-wicket…You just enjoy yourself, you never know what’s coming for you. I’m looking after the young boys, they’re looking after me.”
