Gavin Hamilton Named Yorkshire’s New GM for Men’s & Women’s Teams

Former allrounder Gavin Hamilton has been appointed as the new general manager of cricket at Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Hamilton, who played a Test for England in 1999 and had a notable career with Scotland, replaces Darren Gough in this leadership role. He will oversee both the men’s and women’s cricket teams, marking a significant step in his post-retirement career in cricket management.

Oversight of Men’s and Women’s Teams

One of Hamilton’s key responsibilities will be managing both the men’s and women’s teams at Yorkshire.

The men’s team is on the verge of promotion to Division One of the County Championship, while the women’s team is set to compete in Tier 2 of the new domestic structure.

Yorkshire’s women’s team will aim to earn their place in Tier 1 by 2026. Hamilton expressed his commitment to fostering talent across both teams and is keen on supporting the club in achieving long-term success.
