GT swaps B R Sharath for Robin Minz; RR signs Tanush Kotian instead of Adam Zampa for IPL 2024

The IPL is here. After a long wait, the tournament is set to make the Indian summer more exciting. The inaugural match will be between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Before the tournament, Adam Zampa opted out of IPL 2024 for personal reasons. Rajasthan Royals find his replacement. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans also find a replacement for Robin Minz.

Adam Zampa’s Replacement:

Adam Zampa has withdrawn from the IPL citing personal reasons, leaving Rajasthan Royals without his services for the upcoming season. Despite being retained by the team ahead of the auction in Dubai, where he commanded a contract valued at INR 1.5 crore (approximately A$273,000), Zampa’s sudden decision means he will not participate in IPL 2024.

Kotian, an off-spinning all-rounder, played a crucial role in Mumbai’s recent Ranji Trophy triumph, showcasing his skills with both bat and ball. He now joins Rajasthan Royals for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. With experience in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List A matches representing Mumbai, Kotian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new team. His solid all-round contributions in domestic cricket make him a valuable addition to the Rajasthan Royals squad for the upcoming season.

Robin Minz’s Replacement:

Titans acquired Minz, an uncapped wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand, for INR 3.6 crore in the auction. However, his participation in the upcoming matches was halted due to a bike accident earlier this month. As a result of the unfortunate incident, Minz, who showed promising potential, is unable to join the team for the scheduled games. The setback not only affects the Titans’ squad dynamics but also delays Minz’s opportunity to showcase his talent in the tournament, leaving a void in the team’s lineup that they’ll need to address.
