Popular Indian player Sai Sudarshan has made a return to the England County Championship with his former team of Surrey. Sudarshan will be playing for Surrey in a match against Essex in a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash. Sudharsan first joined Surrey in 2023 and was valuable in helping the club secure the County Championship title away at Hampshire.
Sai Sudarsan has undoubtedly claimed a spot in selectors’ heads after his impressive performance in IPL 2024 for Gujarat Titans where he scored his first IPL century and accumulated a total of more than 500 runs for himself.

Speaking about his return to Surrey, the rising star Sudharsan shared his excitement: “I’m so excited to represent Surrey again. I loved my time with the group last year and want to do my best to help the Club achieve more success. Alec Stewart, Surrey’s director of men’s cricket expressed how glad he is about Sudharsan’s return.
“We saw how good a player Sai is last year and we’re pleased to welcome him back into the group, where he fitted in perfectly,” Stewart said.
“His talent and attitude make him a great asset to our squad, and we’re excited to see what he can achieve this season.” He added.

Sai Sudharsan has been in outstanding form recently, showcasing remarkable skill and consistency. During the Indian Premier League (IPL), he enjoyed a stellar season with the Gujarat Titans, where he not only scored his first century in the competition but also amassed over 500 runs.
His impressive and reliable performances throughout the season earned him a much-deserved debut in the One Day International (ODI) format for the Indian national team. In this new arena, he continued to shine, delivering two half-centuries in just three innings against South Africa, further establishing his prowess and potential on the international stage.
