Hardik Pandya Shares Lessons Learned from MS Dhoni and CSK: Creating a Conducive Environment for Team Success

As the captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing IPL season, Hardik Pandya seems to have imbibed some valuable lessons from the former Indian cricket team captain, MS Dhoni, and his stint with the successful Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise. In fact, the flamboyant all-rounder has openly acknowledged that Dhoni and CSK have always been a source of inspiration for him.

CSK: Pandya’s inspiration

During a recent interaction with former CSK cricketer Robin Uthappa at the sidelines of IPL 2023, hosted by ‘JioCinema’, Hardik Pandya shed light on one of the crucial lessons he learned from the Chennai-based franchise – the art of creating and sustaining a conducive environment that brings out the best in players. Hardik was particularly impressed by CSK’s ability to foster a positive and supportive culture that motivated players to perform at their optimal level.

Apart from acknowledging MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as major sources of inspiration, Hardik Pandya, the charismatic captain of Gujarat Titans (GT), also drew a comparison between the success strategies of Mumbai Indians and CSK. Pandya expressed his admiration for Mumbai Indians’ star-studded lineup, which undoubtedly boasts some of the finest players in the world.

CSK get best out of their players

However, he went on to point out that what truly struck a chord with him was the way CSK extracted the best out of their available resources. He found their approach to be highly motivating as it emphasized the value of teamwork, adaptability, and a positive attitude, which, according to him, are essential ingredients for any successful team.

“There are two kinds of success you can get. One is get the bestest people possible from A to B which I feel MI had, those few years where we’ve won or have the best environment possible for you to win which has been a CSK type where no matter who players are they get the best out of them. That was more inspiring for me to not get the best players but to get the best environment and get this thing.”, Pandya said in his interaction with Robin Uthappa
