What Happened?
Shreyas Iyer had to leave the field after hurting himself while fielding in the first One Day Interntional against Engalnd in Pune. Chasing 318, England openers seem to have set themselves on the field. At the time of this reportage, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy are on the field and smashing the Indian bowlers all over the ground. Bairstow has already scored his half-century while his partner is just on the edge. The 100-run partnership is making the chase look easy for England.

In the 8th over of the England innings, Bairstow hammered a delivery off Shardul Thakur through cover. It needed good effort on the ground to stop it. Shreyas Iyer dived to his left to stop the ball. He managed to slow the ball but because of the speed of the ball, hurt himself. He was visible pain after that and had to leave the field. Thus, he became the second player to go off for a shoulder injury with Sam Billings being the first one in the first innings. However, Iyer’s looks more serious. Shubman Gill was called in as substitute for Iyer.
Earlier in the Day
Earlier in the day, England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and asked India to bat first. Indian cricket team posted 317 for the loss of five wickets and set a massive target for the visitors. The huge innings came on the back of half-centuries from opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan (98), wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul (62*) Krunal Pandya (58*) and captain Virat Kohli (56). For Krunal Pandya it turned out to be memorable debut match in the 50-over format. He scored his maiden ODI 50 on his debut after receiving ODI cap from his younger brother, Hardik Pandya.
