In the T20 format, Riyan Parag made his debut in Zimbabwe. After that, he got selected for the Sri Lanka tour and now making his debut in the ODI format too. With Riyan Parag in the team, Team India will have an extra batting option. The youngster replaced Arshdeep Singh in the third ODI. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma gave an update about this change. He said, “Two changes. We have Rishabh and Riyan Parag in place of KL and Arshdeep.”

As the third match unfolded, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. After winning the toss, Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka said, “We are going to bat first. It looks same like the previous two ODIs. Theekshana comes in for Akila Dananjaya. Guys are doing very well, we are in a good position. I would like to see someone score a hundred on this pitch.”
