The India tour of Zimbabwe started on 6 July with a T20 match between the two teams at Harare sports club. In the first match, India won the toss, yet lost the match by 13 runs. In the second match, India scored a whopping 234/2 in 20 overs. Zimbabwe got restricted to a total score of 134 runs, losing the match by a huge margin. In the 3rd match India scored 182/4 in the first innings. In the second innings, Zimbabwe scored 159/6, losing the match by 23 runs.
The fourth match is being played at the same venue. However, there is a shift in the Indian team as Avesh Khan is no longer in today’s playing XI. India has won the toss, and opted to bowl first.
Why Avesh Khan is not playing in India vs Zimbabwe T20I match
India’s upcoming star pacer Avesh Khan will not be a part of India’s match against Zimbabwe in the 4th T20I. The bowler has been a stat in the series. He took 2 wickets in T20I 3, conceding 39 runs in 4 overs with an economy rate of 9.8.
Avesh Khan is not in the playing XI for the T20I match, as Tushar Deshpande is replacing him. Tushar Deshpande has made his India debut in the T20Is, receiving his cap and replacing Avesh Khan for the 4th T20I at Harare Sports Club on July 13, Saturday.
As stated by captain Shubman Gill during the toss, India made only this one change, keeping the batting lineup the same. Deshpande will share seam-bowling duties with Khaleel Ahmed in the match.
