Here’s the Reason why Kuldeep Yadav is not playing Today’s Ind vs Ban 2nd Test Against Bangladesh.

Kuldeep Yadav was rested for the 2nd Test against Bangladesh as India stuck with three pacers, considering the green pitch and overcast conditions in Kanpur.

Why Kuldeep Yadav is not Playing

Many expected local player Kuldeep to play in Kanpur, but the green grass on the black soil pitch led India captain Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir to stick with the same playing XI, opting for three pacers instead.

India Won The Toss

India won the toss and chose to bowl first in the second Test against Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, today.

The toss was delayed by 30 minutes due to overnight rain and cloudy weather in the morning.

Rain is expected over the first three days of the match, which may have influenced the team selections for both sides.

“We are going to bowl first. The pitch seems a bit soft, so we have to make early inroads and we want our three seamers to make use of it. We didn’t start well with the bat in the first game, but we found a way to score and the bowlers did the job. I expect no different here (fight from Bangladesh), we will be challenged but we have the experience to bounceback. Same team.” Said Rohit Sharma.

However, before the game, Kuldeep Yadav was seen warming up, which made it seem like India will go with three seamers in the game.

“Overcast conditions. It’s a black soil pitch. Traditionally pitches here have been slow and low. First innings totals always on the higher side and scores get low as the game progresses. Enough straw-coloured grass in it for the bowlers to get some movement” – opined Murali Kartik ahead of the game, looking at the pitch and weather conditions. Hence, the decision to play three seamers makes sense.
