Akash Deep, a pace bowler with Servotech Siliguri Strikers and an Indian pacer, believes the upcoming Bengal Pro T20 League will provide an important platform for young cricketing talent in Bengal.
The Bengal Pro T20 League is a men’s and women’s 20-over cricket league conducted yearly in West Bengal, India, and contested by eight city-based franchise clubs.
The Cricket Association of Bengal formed the league in 2024. It will be played after the summer season, which runs from June to August of each year.
Bengal Pro T20 League to start in June
The Bengal Pro T20 League is scheduled to run from June 11 to June 28 in Kolkata. There will be 18 days of intense and passionate cricket with loads of entertainment, ensuring fans stay engaged and eager for more.
Aakash Deep to leverage his IPL experience
The 27 year old player confessed how excited he was for the upcoming Bengal Pro T20 League, and how much the tournament would benefit young cricketers in West Bengal.
“I have been very excited since the time I heard that the Bengal Pro T20 League is going to happen. I’m also excited to play for Siliguri Strikers since Siliguri place is very from Kolkata and seeing their team play in Bengal Pro T20 League will definitely help cricket grow in Siliguri,” said Akash Deep, who has been picked as the marquee player for the Siliguri Strikers, according to a release.
Aakash had recently played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The player had also made Test debut for India earlier this year in February.
Aakash Deep is confident that his IPL experience will benefit his performance in the Bengal Pro T20 League.
“I have been playing in the IPL for the last two months and really looking forward to the League. Many new players will emerge during the Bengal Pro T20 League as senior players. It is our responsibility to make sure we play well and prepare ourselves for tough competition,” he added.
