Hockey Stars Harmanpreet & Team Visit Golden Temple in Amritsar After Olympic Bronze Win

After securing bronze at the Paris Olympics, India’s hockey team, led by Harmanpreet Singh, visits the Golden Temple to express gratitude and celebrate their achievement.

Team India’s Paris Olympics Performance 

After a hard-fought semi-final loss to Germany, India’s men’s hockey team turned their focus to winning the bronze medal against Spain at the Tokyo Olympics. 

Despite a strong effort from captain Harmanpreet Singh, defensive mistakes contributed to their defeat in the semi-finals. 

However, the team bounced back to secure the bronze medal with a 2-1 victory over Spain.

Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya praised the Indian hockey team for their dedication and resilience after their bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics.

Team India is optimistic to win Gold in the Next Olympics  hopefully. “Next time we will change the colour of the medal” they said.

Captain Harmanpreet singh became the leading goal getter, who dodged the opponent custodians no less than 10 times, seven times while converting penalty corners for the team and thrice while capitalising penalty strokes in eight matches.

He said it was not an easy task to win back-to-back medals in the Olympics. “ Last time we won the medal, we came to play obeisance here, ” he said.

The Indian hockey team has returned home after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, their second consecutive bronze. They defeated Spain 2-1 in the final match.

Upon arriving in Punjab, team members, including captain Harmanpreet Singh and his teammates, visited the Golden Temple to offer their thanks. 

They were warmly welcomed by family, fans, and local officials at Amritsar airport, where celebrations included traditional drumming.
