“I really do want to be in the team.” Jofra Archer Eager for Return to England Team, Wants to Play in the Caribbean

The T20 World Cup is coming close. All the players and the teams are gearing up well before the global T20 tournament. England was the defending champion of the T20 World Cup. Before starting the campaign, star English bowler Jofra Archer is aiming to come back to the squad after a long injury and is willing to be a part of the team in the World Cup.

Archer’s World Cup Aim:

The cricket world is going to experience another thrilling World Cup soon. The T20 World Cup is all set to raise its curtains from June 1. The tournament will be arranged in the West Indies and the USA. All teams are preparing hard ahead of the tournament. In 2022, England lifted the T20 World Cup trophy. The team conquered the tournament.

England’s star bowler Jofra Archer is a big asset to the team. But due to injury, he is out of cricket for a long time. As per reports, the ECB plans for him to rejoin international cricket during England’s T20I series against Pakistan in May, just before the T20 World Cup.

Jofra Archer is a Carribean-born cricketer and all excited to play there.  While talking about this, he said, “I really do want to be in the team. I really do want to be playing back at home. I’d love my family and my dogs at that first game back. I haven’t played for England at all this year, so I think it would be really fitting if that could happen.”

Later he added, “Worst-case scenario, even if I don’t make it to the World Cup for whatever reason, there’s still the T20 Blast, there’s still the Hundred. There’s still cricket that I haven’t got a chance to play in the last couple of years. As much as I want to play in the World Cup, if it doesn’t happen for whatever reason, at least I still know I could be somewhat active as well.”

Archer and His Injury Setbacks:

Injuries have consistently plagued him since his debut. He has struggled with these setbacks, casting doubt on his participation in the upcoming major event. He has missed the last 11 matches due to injury, making his future in the game uncertain. Archer said, “Last year, I played from January to May, because I did go to the IPL as well. And then the year before that, I played maybe one or two games for Sussex, so I’ve had a whole year of nothing.”

Later he added, “Hopefully, from June 1 and when June 1 comes next year, hopefully I’ve had no breaks, no injuries, and just constantly playing. It’s been a while and honestly, I don’t know if I’ve got another stop-start year in me. That’s the truth. I don’t know if I’ve got another one.”
